reasons i may or may not see your content on on mixx.com.
1) i may make you a friend if you submit, vote on, or make a good comment on content i find interesting, or of you join certain groups or communities, or if i personally know you or have had previous online relations.
2) i may make you my friend if you live really close to me, or really far away from me.
3) i may make you friend if we are polar opposites, so long as your positions are well informed and articulated well.
4) i may not make you a friend simply because you made me a friend. i never look to see who has befriended me, and my e-mail is set so that i don't get notices. if you want to get my attention, submit good stuff, vote on good stuff, leave good comments, join my communities or groups. perhaps most flattering of all would be for you to recognize what i am doing in groups and communities and spead the ideas by mimicking them.
5) so far as i know, mixx has unlimited friends, so unless i have to cull the friend herd, once you are a friend you will remain a friend, unless you aggressively submit content i find uninteresting. i.e. you track some celebrities every move like a stalker, and submit your findings to mixx 10 times a day.
6) you will notice i seldom use proper CaPiTaLiZaTiOn or punc.tu.a.tion. i ignore conventions i find cumbersome. why should i make extra keystrokes, when the end result is the same? i think most people are intelligent enough to know that "shouldnt" and "shouldn't" mean the same thing. when you become a heavy keystroker, you learn to appreciate effecieny and speed. you could also think of is as ergonomics program for typing.
7) i like alternative news.
