I can't understand what's the problem with people wanting to upgrade to a more powerful OS. If you're happy with what you got, stick with it. A more advanced OS is not going to support applications that are security risks; and frontpage is dead!

That's not a backward compatability problem you're describing but a foward compatabiity problem. Word 2007 IS backward compatable with Word 2003 but Word 2003 is NOT forward compatable with Word 2007.
