Raising a glass to pricey wine

Before anyone freaks out, it was a science experiment at the California Institute of Technology, that's why I'm categorizing it this way.
Most interesting point I thought was about the restaurant that couldn't sell a bottle of wine until they raised its price to over $100. -

Scientists grow rat heart in the lab

@DerivativeRe This research is being done to help people, but since you can't find people to be the lab specimens to begin within this type of work, you start with rats, then move up to pigs, then hopefully move on to people. You have to start somewhere, and medical research like this is not why "millions of Americans do not have health insurance."

What a horrible thing to do (Dr Freemans' son's interview in the end of the article)- blame the child's behavior and say that the lobotomy may have prevented him from a worse life. Howard Dully's father should have divorced his stepmother and spent some time with the poor kid after his own mother died of cancer instead of allowing that wretched woman to have a lobotomy done on him.
I also didn't realize that Dr Freeman is the one who operated on Rose Kennedy for "mild learning disabilities" and that that was what caused her to be incapacitated for the rest of her life. As the parent of a child with learning disabilities I am just sick at the thought of this going on for so long.

What is to stop jerks from posting mean or rude comments about the pictures, and then how is that supposed to feel like support for the women who posted them?
I think it is just too open to negative feedback.

UK - Organs to be taken without consent

Of course the policy could lead to abuse, like all policies, but I think it sounds reasonable. If people feel strongly that they don't want their organs transplanted, they should make those wishes known.
I think it is the responsibility of every individual to make their end of life wishes known, in writing.

Who's Toughest: Mike Huckabee or Chuck Norris?

Yep, and it's so sad how many people will spend money to text vote on tv contests, but won't bother to educate themselves about the real issues in the country. It is FREE to register and to vote in elections that actually matter, and yet we can't motivate people to do it.
